Hello! My name is
Julie Downard and I am one of the First Grade teachers here at Fox Hollow
Elementary. This is my 15th
year of teaching. I can’t believe
it! I taught Kindergarten the first 2
years of my career and the rest have been in First Grade.
When I was a little girl I wanted to be a teacher! I have 2 younger sisters who are fairly close
to me in age…when we played together as children we each took turns choosing
what we wanted to play. I always chose
to play school and I wanted to be the teacher!
J
I graduated from BYU with my Bachelors in Early Childhood
Education in 1996. I have my Reading
Specialist Endorsement and I have taken many Mathematics classes. I continue to take classes in education and
have learned many things to enrich my teaching.
A little about my personal life: I live in Draper with my wonderful husband
and our 2 cats (Bella and Toby). We just purchased our first home last year in
October and have had a lot of fun getting used to the responsibilities of home
ownership. We like to watch movies, play
games, play with the cats, walk/run (I walk and my husband runs), and
read. We have also started collecting
healthy recipes and trying them out.
Most of the time they turn out well!
I love teaching at Fox Hollow. We have an awesome First Grade team! We support each other and help all of the
children in First Grade be the best they can be. I am looking forward to a new and wonderful
year. See you soon!
