This is my 6th year teaching first grade and my second here at fabulous Fox Hollow. I look forward to another great year, and will meet some of you very soon! Miss Van Tassell

Meet Leslie Pearson

Hi! My name is Mrs. Pearson and I teach first grade. I have enjoyed my experience at Fox Hollow Elementary. The students and staff have been awesome to work with and I am excited to start another year here.  I have taught first grade for four years and I absolutely   love it! The students learn so much from the time they enter as kindergarteners. This year will be full of reading, math, science, social studies, and above all, FUN! I can't wait to meet the newest batch of first grade Red Tails :)

Meet Julie Downard

Hello!  My name is Julie Downard and I am one of the First Grade teachers here at Fox Hollow Elementary.  This is my 15th year of teaching.  I can’t believe it!  I taught Kindergarten the first 2 years of my career and the rest have been in First Grade.
When I was a little girl I wanted to be a teacher!  I have 2 younger sisters who are fairly close to me in age…when we played together as children we each took turns choosing what we wanted to play.  I always chose to play school and I wanted to be the teacher!  J

I graduated from BYU with my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education in 1996.  I have my Reading Specialist Endorsement and I have taken many Mathematics classes.  I continue to take classes in education and have learned many things to enrich my teaching.

A little about my personal life:  I live in Draper with my wonderful husband and our  2 cats (Bella and Toby).  We just purchased our first home last year in October and have had a lot of fun getting used to the responsibilities of home ownership.  We like to watch movies, play games, play with the cats, walk/run (I walk and my husband runs), and read.  We have also started collecting healthy recipes and trying them out.  Most of the time they turn out well!

I love teaching at Fox Hollow.  We have an awesome First Grade team!  We support each other and help all of the children in First Grade be the best they can be.  I am looking forward to a new and wonderful year.  See you soon!

Meet Cindy Heinecke

Mrs. Heinecke grew up in Northern Arizona, but has lived in Utah for 30 years. She taught kindergarten in Flagstaff, Arizona and every grade except second and fifth in Utah.  She left teaching for a number of years when her children were small then returned when her youngest started first grade.  Teaching the English half of the French Immersion program has been an exciting new challenge, one she loves!

Meet Audrey Brown

My name is Audrey Brown and I teach first grade.  I graduated from SUU, with a reading endorsement and have been teaching in Jordan School District for 13 years.  This is my second year here at Fox Hollow.  I taught at Southland Elementary in Riverton before moving here.  We have a wonderful staff and I love my 1st grade team.

I am a small town girl from central Utah.  I have been married for 10 years now and have 3 beautiful children.  We have 2 girls, one starting 3rd grade and one in 1st.  The youngest and, one in charge of the family, is all boy and he is almost 3.   I grew up playing sports and being active and I still try to be.  I love to be outside playing with my 3 kids.  I also love to read, watch movies, and spend time with my family.   I love to travel and hope to do it more in the future when our children get a little older.  My dream trip would be to see the whales on an Alaskan cruise.
